Judging the WNYRSEF Projects
Judges for the projects are from many walks of life. Elementary and Middle school teachers usually judge grades 5-6. A mixture of teachers, scientists and engineers judge grades 7-12. Based on the nature of the project, the Science Project Scoring Rubric will be used for science projects or the Engineering Scoring Rubric will be used for engineering projects. Students can also access Presentation Tips to share about their projects.
Judges will be provided with the logistics and procedures to ensure clear expectations of their work at the Fair. There are several Award Levels (Grand/Advancement, Monetary, and Special Awards) available for student projects that qualify and meet the criteria for selection.
If you, or someone you know, would like to judge for the WNY Regional Science and Engineering Fair, please register online –in the upper right corner “Login,” then under “Judges”. (Hint: choose “yes” as a category judge so you can choose the categories in which you’d like to judge.)
For questions, contact the Judges’ Chairperson Cheryl Wozniak at email@example.com.
Safety Considerations for All Projects, Participants, and Public
