Western New York Science Congress, Inc.  is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education in grades 5 -12 encompassing five WNY counties (Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Genesee, and Wyoming). Our mission is to sponsor an annual STEM competition in which students demonstrate the scientific method following safety principles and practices.

OUR PURPOSE

  • Provide students and teachers of Western New York schools the opportunity to engage in and communicate scientific projects and activities within the community
  • Encourage students in the development of interests and careers in science, technology, engineering, and math
  • Encourage career exploration in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math in college, industry, and life.

WNY Distinguished Scientists

Each year, the Board of Directors of WNY Science Congress, Inc. identify a renowned scientist from one of the 8 counties of Western New York.  His or her accomplishments are of importance not only to our area, but possibly recognized nationally or globally. Helen Domske was our Distinguished Scientist in 2016.
